Remarkable transactions this quarter were introduced in the HR market through the acquisition of Raet by CVC Capital. Raet needs to grow further with increasing competition from AFAS and ADP. Payroll processing services in itself are hardly distinctive, it's more about the features in the HR software that will make a difference in the coming years. Complementary business venturing or additional M&A is inevitable.
Asia
Unit 4 expands into Asia with the acquisition of an HR / payroll software company just like Imtech who is expanding an existing interest in infrastructure / outsourcing / software company F&M to 100%. Both companies see significant growth markets in Southeast Asia while their more mature core markets in Europe exhibit saturation and under pressure from the economic circumstances might well shrink.
